Everything you need to know about exploring Glengarriff woods at your own pace
Our walks are designed for varying fitness levels, from gentle woodland strolls to moderate terrain. We keep groups small so everyone moves at a comfortable pace, and there's no pressure to complete the full route—we always have rest points and turnaround options.
Most walks run for 2 to 3 hours including rest stops, and we cover between 1.5 to 3 miles depending on the route. You'll get plenty of time to enjoy the woodland, spot wildlife, and hear stories about the area from our local guides.
Wear layers and waterproof jackets—Cork weather changes quickly. Bring sturdy walking shoes with good grip, a water bottle, and any medications you need. We've got a detailed packing guide on our site if you want specifics.
Some trails are more accessible than others. The Lady's Valley Loop is our gentlest option with minimal elevation change, while other routes have steeper sections. Get in touch before booking and we'll match you with the right walk for your needs.
